Spain Spain Spain

I spent most my Spring Break in Palamos, Spain with two of my roommates, Suzanne and Emily. We flew out of Milan into Girona on March 19. All in all, we took 2 trains, a taxi, a plane, and 2 buses to get to Palamos. Our hostel was really nice. It had two rooms, one with two beds and a wardrobe and the other with a little kitchenette, two more beds, and a dining table. Plus we had a a balcony off each room! We were pretty close to the beach front and a bunch of shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, we were a little before tourist season so quite a few things were closed.

We spent almost all our time in Palamos, but we did go into Barcelona for one day on March 22. Barcelona was really neat. We visited La Sagrada Familia, a cathedral designed by Gaudi and still being constructed. We also visited a park and saw the Triumphal Arch. We had lunch at a really cute Tex-Mex restaurant, it was delicious!

In Palamos, we visited the Museum of Fishing which described the history of fishing in Palamos, so that was really neat. It was a really good museum too and had information in English. We also took a walk along the cliffs to a few different beaches. Unfortunately, the weather was not as nice as we'd hoped. It was cloudy almost everyday, so we didn't quite have the beach vacation we were hoping for. But, it was really relaxing and fun. I did a lot of reading and we had a really good time overall.

We flew back to Milan on March 25. We had been hoping to spend the afternoon in Milan and see The Last Supper by Da Vinci. Unfortunately, the tickets were sold out, so we were thinking that we'd spend the afternoon looking around Milan instead. But once we arrived, we were exhausted and just wanted to get back to Florence. We were able to change our train tickets and got back to Florence around 5.
